Goldie came to us from Clay Ranch in Cartwright, MB. Goldie is the friendliest mare you'll come across. All of her foals with us have been fantastic; solid and friendly. We've held back her 2022 filly out of LSR Forrest as a broodmare prospect. Goldie has a phenomenal foundation pedigree with run/performance mix. As a senior mare, she continues to be an easy keeper with phenomenal feet.
Goldie is 14.0 hands, and has phenomenal feet and legs. Although she's not vey big, she is put together very well. We would love to get one more filly from her so that her legacy continues with us.
Annie is Sheldon's Mom's riding mare. She is a tank of a mare; out of Donna Decosse's LSR Forrest stud. She has impeccable confirmation and a very easy demeanour. We're exited for future crosses on Walter or Gilbert. Even though she may not look it, she's no spring chicken anymore; hoping to get a few more prospects from her!
Annie is 14.0 hands and is nearly just as wide.
We purchased Fergie from Spot a Quarter in 2021. She had a fancy splash palomino filly in 2022 that we've decided to retain. We jokingly call her Fergatron, as she is SOLID and very well built. That being said, she is also extremely cowy, quick and agile. She is a fun mix of performance/foundation. Her foals have been solid and fancy, built to do any job.
Fergie is 15.1 hands
We purchased Libby from Decosse Quarter Horses as a yearling. She was the last foal out of her dam, who was 25 when Libby was foaled! With old-school run on the bottom, and Frenchmans Guy on the top, we're excited to see where this filly will take us. We had her at Thunderbird Horse Centre in 2022 to get her started, we're really pleased with how she is coming along. Her foals are quick and flashy. Libby is 5-Panel tested N/N.
Libby is 15.2 hands.
DD or Drifter is a broodmare prospect we purchased from CKM Quarter Horses in 2021. From day one you could tell this filly was going to be special; she has consistently looked fancy and well put together. DD is friendly, quiet and loves attention. We look forward to seeing all that she'll bring to our program. DD is 6-panel N/N. Her first foal will be in 2025 off of Walter.
DD is still growing, but string tests to finish near 15 hands.
Dixie is a super cute palomino mare from Clay Ranch. She's had some incredible foals in the past and we think she would cross well on Walter; hoping for some future replacement fillies.
Dixie is about 14.2? hands
Were going to call this mare Molly! She is a stunning chestnut, built the way we like. She is another Clay Ranch mare, out of Little Peppy Jac.
Watcher Peppy is near 15 hands.
Rio is our 2022 filly by LSR Forrest - owned by Decosse Quarter Horses and out of our mare, Goldie. She is smart, built correct, and has a calm disposition like her mom. Rio has been very easy to work with and trains well. Interestingly, Rio was born red dun, but has a lot of white hairs and we suspect she may be greying at a very slow pace. We're very excited for her to become a part of our breeding program. Rio is 6-Panel N/N. We plan to breed her to RL Peptocats King this Spring for a 2026 foal!
Like her mom and 1/2 sister, Annie, she isn't going to be very tall. She string tests to finish out at 14.1 hands
When we purchased our mare, Fergie, she was bred to a dual registered, splash palomino stud - Boggies Gold Gun (a Gunner grandson) - and Willow is the result. Willow is really coming into her own, and has a classic reining look. This filly is far too pretty not to put in to training and see what she can do. On top of that, we think she will cross well on either of our studs. 6-Panel tested and is GBED N/G, N/N for the rest.
Willow should finish off near 15 hands.
Reference mare: Jacky is another mare we purchased from Clay Ranch. She's the type of horse you'd expect out of the Clay Ranch program: smart, willing, built right, with a pedigree with no holes in it. We have retired Jacky as a broodmare. We're very grateful to own this mare, and although we didn't get the filly like we were hoping, she has been the best Winter babysitter for the weanlings!
